Review of Technology World 09
Technology World is the main event that promotes UK technology and innovation to the world. Organised by UKTI the event comprises a conference, an exhibition and "speed dating" business to business meetings. This year there were over 1300 delegates at the event from 550 UK and 200 overseas companies (from over 50 countries).
The Electronics KTN brought together a dozen companies and universities that illustrated the UK's science strengths in the area of electronics. The major themes were the SKA and the Grand Challenges programmes. The exhibitors covered topics from the largest radio telescope in the world to the smallest medical sensing devices. The robotic hand from Shadow Robots attracted attention from many people - this is a company that is now a world leader and started as a hobby. We were pleased to have STFC on the stand to discuss their Knowledge Exchange programmes.
The TW09 webpage on the site gives an overview of the event, as well as some of the highlights.
TechnologyWorld09 is the UK’s biggest ‘meet the buyer’ event in the technology field, showcasing the best of UK innovation to potential partners and buyers from across the globe.
Now in its fifth year, TechnologyWorld has a proven track record of success. Last year it generated 2,200 meetings with delegates from 38 countries, and this year it is bigger and better than ever, with more targeted delegates, an expanded exhibition, more networking opportunities and a world-class conference programme.
