 FundMap is a database of grants and funding schemes available to the UK’s electronics sector. Access is open to all companies.

Many agencies, including the European Commission, the UK Government and local authorities offer business support to help companies grow and develop. However, identifying which funding scheme best fits your company needs can be time-consuming and confusing. Support services such as Business Link can help you expidite the process - but they may only have local knowledge.

To help companies navigate their way through the myriad of schemes available, the Electronics KTN has developed an online tool to help companies efficiently identify grants, loans, capital or access to university resource.

On Thursday, 1 November 2007 Electronic Product Design hosted the first e-Legacy Awards. These Awards are designed to celebrate the value of electronics and electronics companies and how they can build a better future today.

Caroline Hayes, editor, Electronic Product Design explains how the awards came into being: 'The e-Legacy Awards are a defiant response to reports about the 'wasteful' power-hungry' electronics industry....Yet in my role as editor, I see so many positive things that electronics companies do, that I wanted a vehicle to show this and to demonstrate how we can create a lasting legacy for future generations.'

The awards' categories were unusual in that they asked readers to vote on projects and initiatives that contribute to education, the environment, health and safety.

The sponsors selected the finalists in each category but, explains Hayes, 'Electronic Product Design's readers voted in their thousands [for the winners] for these awards,' adding the volume of entries and the quality received, means that all the e-Legacy finalists should be rightly proud of the projects that brought them to the Awards lunch.'

The 2008 e-Legacy Awards presentation luncheon will take place on 11th September 2008 at the Kensington Roof Gardens.
