The SKA is an iconic project for the electronics sector as it brings together the skills of both academics and industry to meet one of the most challenging developments of our time. To design and build the world's largest radio telescope is a project that requires global collaborations - and 1.5 Billion Euros! However the advances required to achieve the project's goals are also those advances required by industry for tomorrow data communication and data processing solutions. High speed communications, low noise & low power electronics, data processing based on multicore DSP and supercomputing technologies. SKA 2010 is being held in Manchester between 22nd and 25th March. This year's event may well mark the tipping point from academic research into engineering - and so is an ideal time for companies to participate in a unique conference bringing together the world's leading developers to discuss current progess and the next steps. A project as large as the Square Kilometre Array has many teams developing the technologies and it can be difficult to get a full appreciation of all the aspects. This year companies in the UK have a unique opportunity to fully understand the project and make international contacts. SKA2010 is the International SKA Science and Engineering meeting and will be held in Manchester 22nd - 25th March. All research and development teams will be represented and the event covers 4 days of talks and discussion groups on all the aspects of the project.
