Calling all UK based Sensor Network experts - The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) have a Joint Technical Committee JTC1 dealing with all matters of information technology. The work of JTC1 is undertaken by a series of Working Groups and Sub Groups - responsible for standardisation activities in specific technology areas. At the last international meeting of JTC1 a new Working Group (WG7) was established to coordinate standards activity for sensor networks. It is important that this new work is built not only on normal standards processes but also reflects the needs of industry and so an open meeting has been organised for 10:00 on Thursday 4th February to discuss the future work. “Chip Market Grows 18% In Q2-09” - London, UK, 13 July 2009: Following hot on the heels of April’s 16 percent month-on-month sales growth, May grew a further 0.9 percent sequentially, putting June on track to break through the US$20 billion barrier, for the first time since the chip market collapsed last September. “Psychologically this will give everyone a shot in the arm”, commented Malcolm Penn, Chairman & CEO at the UK-based research firm, Future Horizons, “Second quarter growth is usually pretty pathetic … there have been only three historical precedents when such a spurt has happened. The big question now is: Is this the start of the chip market recovery or is it merely a blip on the statistics radar screen?” By Malcolm Penn (16/07/09) ... more

EMC is one of the key knowledge transfer themes for the electronic design engineering community.

We've established this EMC Special Interest Group (SIG) to discuss all aspects relating to this theme. This SIG is where our community of engineers interested in issues of EMC can get together to share ideas and best practices, compare experiences, resolve problems, discuss new technologies and learn about what's going on in the industry.
We will use this space to provide a collaborative and interactive area for the professionals working with, or wanting to know more about EMC. Over time we wil be placing documents, design guides and best practice information on this SIG. We will be providing announcements regarding events, This shared workspace belongs to you, our members, and we hope you will find it a useful place to participate and collaborate. Make the most of it!

The rest of the content of this SIG is restricted to members of the SIG. If you are not currently a member of the SIG and would like to join please contact the SIG administrator:  emc@electronics-ktn.com
