The University of Hertfordshire has joined forces with the Cambridge Network to operate the regional hub for the Eastern Region of the Electronics Knowledge Transfer Network (EKTN). The hub covers Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and North London.

Building on its heritage of engagement with industry, community and international partners, the University of Hertfordshire is a 21st century business-facing organisation, currently in the national top 10 of Knowledge Transfer performers.

Its academic quality is second to none, with electronics teaching within its School of Electronic, Communication and Electrical Engineering having been accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) for a continuous period of 25 years.

Having run regional support centres for the electronics industry for 12 years, latterly under the DTI’s Electronics Design programme, the University welcomes the opportunity to work the sector once again through EKTN.

Cambridge Network

The Cambridge Network is one of the longest-established networks in the UK and is often cited as an exemplar of the benefits business networking can bring to the technology sector. The mission of the Cambridge Network is to link like-minded people from business and academia to each other and to the global high technology community for the benefit of the greater Cambridge region.

This is achieved using a variety of technology, knowledge and people-based tools to enhance business processes both on a local and a global scale. The Network facilitates member communication through its website and also organises about 40 member events per year.
